Farewell 2020, Hello 2021
Let's be honest—it’s been a terrible year in so many ways. The virus, the lock-down(s), the isolation, the anxiety, politics, and all the zoom meetings!
*** BIG SIGH ****
And, a few silver linings: being home (okay, most of the time), the quiet outside—and all the animals and birds who benefited, “seeing” folks from all over the world regularly (okay, on zoom), meeting everyone’s family and pets (okay, on zoom), getting to read a lot, and taking so many long walks (gotta get out of the house!)
And above all, for me, having the time to sift through things. Without even intending to, I’ve found myself thinking about the people I love and appreciate, remembering events in the past that have been especially meaningful, and returning to what really matters again and again. This has been one of the most reliable ways to get me out of a funk, or a bad stress-patch. It kind of comes down to this: I find myself tuning my attention to what I am grateful for — and in the fullness of those memories, life is good.
*** SWEET SIGH ***
Let's remember that any and all positive intentions and efforts we make, even for ourselves, will benefit all beings everywhere.
Let's make 2021 a wonderful year!
